Description: This exceptional gesso on wood baroque style reverse profile picture frame with linen liner and antique glazed gold metal leaf finish is most likely Italian dating to the 1960's. Measuring 21 1/2" x 25 3/4" overall with 16 7/8" x 21 1/8" reveal and 17 3/8" x 21 5/8" back rabbet opening, it has deeply molded details with bronze leaf over red bole and a n umber glaze with chalky white glaze as accents. The linen liner is quite acceptable (dusty) and there is a smallleaf loss near the lower right corner. There are no losses in the gesso and it is sturdy and usable.
