Description: late 1870s - the material is a smooth light ribbed - it could be silk but I cannot verify that.. there are a handful of small holes only and a few faded areas, see pics, all the hoks are there, there is light fraying on the edge of the skirt hem, very mild though, the color is JET BLACK, the included shawl is much deteriorated but I am including it for posterity.. attached note from family included.. the buttons are also all there and are made of glass, DO NOT BUY this if you havent reviewed the measurements - it is most likely a modern size 8/9// the waist is VERY small in proportion to the chest - also please understand that although this is in excellent condition for its age, there are a few fade spots (brown) that can be re dyed and the holes can be re-woven for restoration, though this can be worn as is for great impact!
