Description: 0 false 21 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false Vintage French Oil Painting, Village, Church and Chateau, Compans near Paris, Signed Druet, 1945 This charming vintage French oil on canvas is a view of the village of Compans, near Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, northeast of Paris. The painting shows the Church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption and a tower of the nearby red brick château in the Louis XIII style. A woman is standing in front of the wall on the right hand side. The painting is signed “Druet” and dated “45” (1945) on the lower right hand corner and the back is marked, “Compans (S/M) [Seine-et-Marne]. 1945”. This painting is in good condition with the exception of slight warping of the canvas and a tiny dent in the stretcher on the extreme left edge which would be covered by a frame.
