Description: Here is an American Standard 4" center-set faucet with "self-closing" valves. These faucets were popular in public bathrooms to ensure the water was shut off when the user left. I've seen these faucets in private homes where kids might leave the faucets on by accident. This is an older style that still had the operating on/off pop-up drain...later units just had a grid drain withno pop-up as stupid vandals would often damage the pop-up assembly. Heavy solid brass construction with heavy chrome plating and made in the U.S.A. I bought this from a retiring plumber along with many other items back in the early 1990's.
