This is the hard-to-find lid with a built-in broiler. When your dish is done and you want to melt cheese or toast the top, you simply switch the control over from the base to the lid (don't touch the prong). All 4 legs, 2 side handles, and the lid handle are all solid with no cracks or damage. The inside of the griddle is clean for the most part, but within the nooks and crannies all over exists a little bit of greasy build up - but nothing out of the ordinary.
