They are the perfect width for my closet, and height to fit under our shirts and jackets. We hang our pants from the waist, so we just left space at the back of the closet to allow them to hang freely. We lined our drawers along the closet walls, but I believe they are stackable.I was able to fit 6 middleweight sweaters into one drawer, so there's a fair amount of room in each drawer. I don't suggest storing anything 5 or more pounds on top or inside as these drawers are plastic and it will hinder opening and closing the drawers.I chose the white drawers because the closet is all white, and I wanted to make sure the items we put in the drawers were visible and not cast in shadow like they would be in darker drawers.
